Janet Brown, Business and Reference Librarian for Jackson District Library

The first thing any inventor or entrepreneur does before investing time and money into their idea is to research into what is already on the market. This session, “Essential Library Resources for Inventors and Entrepreneurs”, is the first official walk-through in our 2017 speaker series on the process of inventing.

Laura Brown is a Business and Reference Librarian for Jackson District Library. Currently she works at the Carnegie Library where she plans programming and helps patrons find the information they need. Before her employment at Jackson District Library, Laura worked in Adult Services at Delta Township District Library in Lansing. Before becoming a librarian, she worked 10 years as a development editor for national book publishers in San Francisco and Chicago. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University and her Master’s degree in Library Science from Wayne State University.
