Jeff Matzen, a certified financial planner, will be the speaker of the Feb. 26 meeting of the Jackson Inventors Network, on the topic if “Financial Planning for Inventors & Entrepreneurs.” Matzen currently owns his own financial planning company, Matzen Financial, and he is a Director of NorthStar Capital Advisory Services, a Jackson based merchant bank, offering financial consulting services to companies looking for access to capital. In the past four years, NorthStar has successfully raised more than $50 million for Michigan companies. Prior to his current positions, Matzen was an options trader and market maker on the German Stock Exchange, was the Director of Finance for the Düsseldorf Rhein Fire and worked for the National Football League in London, England. Matzen is a Jackson native, received his degree from the University of Notre Dame and has been back in Jackson for 10 years.
Also, Norma LaValle of the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) will tell us what they offer and how they can help inventors.
The meeting starts at 6:00-6:30 with registration, followed by the program and networking. The meeting will be held in the Justin Whiting Building on the JCC campus, in room 158.
